About me - I am a product of two worlds: the metropolitan, high-tech energy of the Seattle area and the quiet, rugged beauty of Troy, Montana. Born in Seattle, I moved to Troy as a child and grew up in the Kootenai Valley before returning to Washington for college in 2001. My career in the tech industry has kept me in the city, but my roots—and my family—have always remained in Troy.
The Sovereign Philosophy - My approach to hosting is simple: I only ever offer rentals in locations I want to visit myself. Because I frequently stay in these homes, I design them to the exact standards of quality and utility I require in my own professional and personal life. I intentionally craft every space to be functional, coordinated, and stylish—specifically tailored for digital nomads and modern travelers who need a home designed for the way we live and work today.
The Legacy of The Katherine - My first rental, The Katherine, is located in my hometown and is deeply personal. Following the recent passing of my wife, Emily, I chose to invest in a way that honored her memory while serving the community I love. In addition to being her middle name, the name is a tribute to several "Katherines" in her family, but it also carries a more quiet, poetic meaning: It was the name we had chosen for a daughter whose arrival we sought through years of resilience, hope, and prayer.  Though our journey took us down a different path, and we never got meet her, naming this home "The Katherine" allows that love to have a physical presence in the world.
Whether you are here for a "work-cation" in Katie Mae’s Loft or a quiet mountain retreat, I invite you to experience the best of Northwest Montana with no compromise on quality. Welcome to The Katherine.
